Praise of God

I read the Psalms with joy and tears;

As David’s saga fills his years.

When enemies are drawing near;

God alone calms his fears.

Now with God this day must start;

With wisdom from His word impart.

Shadows may be my part;

          But the Praise of God shall fill my heart;
                 The Praise of God shall fill my heart.

Forever Longing

Forever longing in my grief;

Too touch the glory of relief.

Sin seemingly had me bound;

Until in Christ I could be found.

In His name proclaimed belief;

Now my sorrows seem so brief;

        Now my sorrows seem so brief.

Have you seen?

Have you seen such joy, such love, such might?

Have you seen what gives the demons fright?

Have you seen such truth, such power, such sight?

Have you seen what gives the angels delight?

Have you seen that Christ is always right?

Have you seen that Christ is always right?

I Awoke

I can sleep when the world brings trouble,
       I awoke to find my blessings doubled
Those who sought to bring me trouble,
       Now discover their plans in rubble.
God is my shield in times of trouble,
       Salvation is not quiet and subtle.
God has struck those who brought trouble,
       Blessing lives that seemed befuddled,
       Blessing lives that seemed befuddled.
